Digiboost for the Brussels Social Economy
In 2022, Brussels Economy and Employment awarded Maks asbl a grant to promote digital skills. The focus was specifically on employees of Brussels socio-professional inclusion organisations.
About 40 supervisors and about 30 employees found their way to our classrooms. We surveyed the target audience regarding their specific expectations and built a specific programme for them. For the supervisors, the focus was on Excel, online interaction with official agencies and promoting their coaching skills and pathway guidance. The target group workers were taught basic PC and Windows skills, how to communicate with the government and how to look for work online. The classes continued in small groups of max 6 people to ensure personalised coaching. They thus took their first steps towards digital autonomy under the guidance of the experienced animators of Maks vzw Volwassenen.
“Because of the small groups, the instructors were close to us and had a lot of patience to answer our questions. Now I better understand all the things I could already do in Excel intuitively and have a better understanding of how to use it for my work.”
