DigiYou project

The DigiYou project aims to train young people between the ages of 18 and 29 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) to become digital mentors.

The idea is to strengthen the digital inclusion of people who are digitally excluded, have little or no digital skills, and struggle to use digital tools for essential services.

This approach has made the following possible:

  • Boosting their self-confidence and enabling them to take proactive steps, as well as passing on their skills.
  • Expanding digital access to a larger segment of the population that was previously excluded, and reducing the digital divide.
  • How?

  • A training course in digital inclusion with various modules and activities on guidance and digital ethics.
  • An internship period that young people complete in a Brussels digital space.
  • A cycle of digital assistance provided by the young people involved in the project to at least 10 people in their community who are digitally vulnerable.
  • More specific mentoring by each young person in the project to two other young people from their community (they pass on their experience so that these young people can also become digital mentors themselves).
