Training through work

Maks is a learning centre that aims to develop the inclusion and well-being of young people and adults through the inclusive use of new digital technologies.

We have 2 public computer rooms (in Molenbeek and Cureghem), a graphics agency for profit and nonprofit sectors, and a job search assistance service. Our work is recognised in the social economy and this enables us to recruit workers who undergo “on the job” training in our various projects (this in collaboration with ACTIRIS and the CPAS). These workers in training help us to carry out our activities; and at the same time, through practical experience, we help them to integrate more easily into the labour market. In the process, they acquire professional experience, strengthen their soft skills and develop job-related competences. At the beginning of 2020, we already had 3 transfer programmes (DSP) and 1 Art 60 under contract, and in the past year we hired 7 new DSPs, 6 new Art 60 and 1 new GECO insertion. This means that we supported a total of 19 workers in training by 2020.

Since 1 January 2021, thanks to the renewal of our mandate, we have been able to train 25 low-skilled people (9 Art 60, 14 ECOSOC and 2 enlisting GECO) for 6 different professional profiles: “Desktop publisher” (3 positions), “Web designer” (2 positions), “Maintenance and repair informatics” (4 positions), ” Assistant animator in digital inclusion” for adults (4 positions) and for young people (4 positions), “Cleaning lady” (1 position) and “Receptionist” (4 positions).
