About Maks vzw

Maks vzw is looking for a motivated pathway supervisor to work with Romanian Roma and Syrian Doms. The project aims to support these communities in their journey towards employment and integration. As a pathway counsellor, you will work at the interface of social guidance and administrative support, with a focus on cooperation with local organisations such as OCMWs, municipalities, mutual health organisations and schools.

Your responsibilities

  • Recruiting participants: active outreach and collaboration with local partners to find and engage participants.
  • Individual counselling: providing support to find employment, access social services, and solve practical problems.
  • Organising training: coordinating relevant education and training to empower participants.
  • School mediation: provide support to children and young people in collaboration with schools when necessary.
  • Networking and collaboration: build and maintain relationships with social services, local authorities and other relevant partners.
  • Administrative monitoring: accurately tracking data and progress of participants.

What do we ask of you?

  • Language skills: a very good written knowledge of Dutch and the ability to provide guidance in Dutch and French. Fluent knowledge of Romanian is required.
  • Regional knowledge: be familiar with Brussels and be able to match the social map to the needs of the target audience.
  • Experience in social counselling: experience in counselling vulnerable groups is a plus.
  • Flexibility and organisational skills: ability to work independently and set priorities.
