I love science

In October 2024, Maks vzw participated in the I Love Science Festival, organised by Innoviris in Brussels. This three-day event aims to raise public awareness of science and technology. For this edition, we offered two simultaneous workshops, where children could learn about robotics and electronics in a fun and interactive way. Nearly 500 children participated in our activities.

The first workshop, aimed at children aged 8-12, focused on robotics. The children made and decorated small pre-cut cars, which they then programmed with Micro:Bit to make them move. This activity allowed them to discover mechanics, technology and coding while developing their creativity. Each child went home with their own car, which contributed to their sense of achievement.

At the same time, in a second workshop for children aged 6 and above, the Makey Makey device was used to transform everyday objects (fruit and vegetables) into interactive controls. This workshop introduced children to the basic principles of electronics and programming and encouraged them to experiment and solve interactive challenges.
