MAKS vzw (responsible for the project), Santia cz (partner) : Santia is a company specialised in designing courses for both face-to-face and distance learning.
Funded by Erasmus+
We want to realise an e-learning course for low-skilled adults to make them aware of their own digital well-being, the role model they have as a digital parent to raise their children through digital freedom.
Digital freedom is defined as knowing when using a digital tool adds value and when it does not and can lead to digital addiction.
Digital inclusion can lead to social inclusion. But at the same time, misuse of smartphones can cause many health problems and reinforce exclusion. If children do not get enough sleep and cannot concentrate on their schoolwork, the results can cause young people to become early school leavers. Game addiction, cyberbullying, sexting and porn addiction all affect children’s minds and bodies. 70% of low-educated parents do not have the digital skills or knowledge to make their children aware of the dangers of the digital world.
Target groups
Low-skilled adult learners of migrant and refugee origin in Brussels with children.
Low-educated people are those without a degree or only primary education, living in poverty.
Maks vzw reaches 200 people of Roma or Dom origin, 150 analphabetic people, 70 people with an electronic bracelet and 150 people with low digital skills every year. At least 100 of them will test and/or follow the e-learning. Roma, analphabets and prisoners are invited to our centre because they have no internet connection at home.
Low-educated and unemployed adults in the Czech Republic with children: we will test it out with two groups and distribute the e-learning to different adult centres working with this population.
