A job in a few swipes

You can turn to Maks Adults for guidance towards work. To help people look for work or training, Maks organises various courses. Our workshops are free and run over several days.
During the “Online Job Application” workshop, you learn to search for job vacancies on the internet and respond to them. How do you send a CV and cover letter via e-mail? How to fill in online forms? What is My Actiris and how do you use it? How can you look up the route to a company or organisation? You will learn it all during this short workshop.

Do you already know how to apply online, but want to know more about it? Then jobseekers can take part in the “Boost Yourself” workshop. You will learn to analyse job offers and get tips to improve your CV and motivation letter. We practice the job interview and give you tips. The workshop “Vocational orientation” was renewed this year. We made this workshop for people who do not yet have a clear picture of what work they would like to do. You learn to take stock of your own experiences and we explore the labour market together. We look at what sectors exist and which jobs might interest you.

During the “Presentation Techniques” workshop, we reflect on your presentation. What is non-verbal communication and what should I pay attention to? How can I smoothly conduct a job interview? How do you respond to difficult questions? How do you deal with stress? What are my strengths and weaknesses? During this workshop we prepare you for a successful job interview.

Besides workshops to help you in your job search, Maks also organises several courses for people who want to learn how to use a computer. “I Start” is a computer science course for people who have almost no experience with the computer. During this course, you will learn the basics of how to use it. We developed the “I Begin: Alpha” the course for people who have difficulty reading and writing, but would still like to learn how to use a smartphone.

“Home 1” is a course for people who want to learn how to use the computer at home. You will learn about e-mail and Google, as well as Facebook and devices such as USB sticks and so on. “Home 2” builds on Home 1, teaching you how to use the computer for leisure. You learn to keep your diary and documents online and make online purchases. During this course, you will also learn about online safety.

Want to know more about the features of a smartphone? Then “Smartphone 1” is for you. You will learn to start up and charge a smartphone, as well as change the date and time. You learn to store contact details and use Bluetooth. Furthermore, we teach you to install and use apps.

Do you already know the smartphone, but want to know more about it? Then “Smartphone 2” could be interesting for you. You will learn how to use the camera and the advanced settings. But we will also teach you about social media and how to transfer files from one device to another.

People who can already work with the computer and would like to learn how to work with Microsoft Word can attend workshop “At Work 1”. You will learn about the computer programme Microsoft Word, as well as Google Drive and attachments in your e-mail.

“At Work 2” is for people who can already work with the computer and would like to learn how to work with Excel. You will learn all about Excel and Google Drive. Do you know the basics of Excel and would like to deepen your knowledge? Then we recommend “At Work 3”. Do you have basic computer skills and would like to learn how to sew on the computer? Then the “Digital Sewing” course is for you.
